Elixir Management
Positive Elixir Trades
Always aim to counter expensive cards with cheaper ones. For example, use Skeletons (1 elixir) to counter a Mini P.E.K.K.A (4 elixir) when supported properly.
Example: Counter a 5-elixir Wizard with a 3-elixir Knight + 1-elixir Skeletons = +1 elixir advantage
Elixir Counting
Keep track of your opponent's elixir. If they just played an expensive card, you have a window to push.
Example: Opponent plays Golem (8 elixir) → You have 8+ elixir advantage to counter and push
Elixir Leak Prevention
Don't let your elixir bar fill completely. Always have a plan for your elixir usage.
Example: If at 10 elixir, play a cheap card to cycle rather than wasting elixir
Card Placement
Defensive Placement
Place defensive troops in the middle of your side to pull enemy troops to both princess towers.
Example: Place a Knight in the center to pull a Hog Rider to both towers
Building Placement
Place buildings one tile away from the river to maximize their range and pull distance.
Example: Tesla placed 1 tile from river can hit troops at the bridge and pull them
Spell Placement
Aim spells to hit both the troop and the tower when possible for maximum value.
Example: Fireball placed to hit both a Musketeer and the tower
Deck Building
Win Condition
Every deck needs a reliable win condition - a card that can consistently damage enemy towers.
Example: Hog Rider, Royal Giant, Golem, X-Bow, etc.
Spell Selection
Include at least one small spell (Zap, Log, Arrows) and one big spell (Fireball, Lightning, Rocket).
Example: Small spell for swarms, big spell for buildings and high-HP troops
Air Defense
Always include cards that can hit air troops. Don't rely solely on ground units.
Example: Musketeer, Archers, Mega Minion, or air-targeting spells
Splash Damage
Include at least one splash damage card to handle swarms effectively.
Example: Wizard, Valkyrie, Baby Dragon, or splash spells
Gameplay Strategy
Double Elixir Time
Save your expensive cards for double elixir time when you can support them properly.
Example: Save Golem or Three Musketeers for the final minute
Card Cycling
Use cheap cards to cycle back to your win condition faster.
Example: Play Ice Spirit + Skeletons to cycle back to Hog Rider
Counting Cards
Track which cards your opponent has played to predict their next move.
Example: If they've played 7 cards, you know what's left in their rotation
Tower Trading
Sometimes it's better to let one tower go to focus on the other two.
Example: In 2v2 or when severely behind, focus on defending one side
Advanced Techniques
Kiting
Use troops to pull enemy units away from your tower and into the kill zone.
Example: Use Ice Golem to pull a Prince to the center where both towers can hit it
Spell Baiting
Force your opponent to use their spell on a less important target, then play your main threat.
Example: Play Goblin Gang to bait Zap, then play Goblin Barrel
Split Pushing
Attack both lanes simultaneously to overwhelm your opponent's defense.
Example: Send Hog Rider on one side, Miner on the other
Pocket Plays
Surprise your opponent with unexpected card placements or timings.
Example: Place a building in the pocket (between towers) to catch them off guard
